About this app
EasyComp YouTube App is a lightweight web application that lets older or limited smart TVs keep playing YouTube, even when the official YouTube app is no longer supported.
Instead of a heavy native app, it runs in the built-in web browser of your TV, media box, Raspberry Pi or mini PC. The interface is deliberately simple: large cards, clear buttons and a layout that stays readable from the sofa.
You sign in with the official Google device-code method. That means you approve the login on your own phone, tablet or laptop; this app never asks for and never stores your Google password.
Main features:
- ✔️ Works on older smart TVs and simple media boxes with a basic browser
- ✔️ Sign in with your own YouTube account via the official Google device code flow
- ✔️ Search YouTube and play results directly inside the player
- ✔️ “You” section with subscriptions, playlists, liked videos and a local history inside this app
- ✔️ Built-in player (YouTube embed / no-cookie) so videos stay inside the app
- ✔️ Multilingual interface: automatic language selection based on your browser/TV settings
- ✔️ Right-to-left support for languages like Arabic and Hebrew
How it works:
- Open the browser on your TV or media box and go to the URL of this app.
- Click Sign in.
- You will see a code and a link to
google.com/device. - On your phone, tablet or laptop, go to that link and enter the code.
- Confirm that this app is allowed to access your YouTube account.
- The app detects the link and shows your personal sections (subscriptions, liked videos, etc.).
Privacy & storage
- Your Google password is never entered in this app and is never stored by EasyComp Zeeland.
- The app stores only the access tokens needed to request your YouTube data after you approve access through Google.
- Tokens are stored in a protected server directory, outside public web folders.
- Personal app data, such as History and Watch later, is separated per signed-in user and is not shared with other users.
- No own tracking, analytics scripts or advertising profiles are added by this app.
- All content (videos, thumbnails, channels) comes directly from the official YouTube API.
- You can revoke this app’s access at any time in your Google account security settings.
Costs
The EasyComp YouTube App is free to use for end users. You only pay for your own internet connection and any hosting or service agreements needed to make this app available.
This app uses the official YouTube Data API via the OAuth 2.0 device flow. EasyComp Zeeland does not store passwords; only the tokens needed to fetch your feed.
